Teaching Involvements

Even though I was enjoying what I thought to be a very rewarding and stimulating career in art education in Yorkshire, we decided in the 1980's to move the family home to Cornwall. This allowed my wife Irene to take up new challenges in her career and enabled me to retire from full time teaching to spend more time on my own painting. As I still wanted to continue teaching in some capacity, I decided to run part-time courses in my studio at Poltesco where my wife and I lived.

In 1986 I also became a visiting tutor for the Centro d'Arte Verrocchio in Tuscany. This has led to very important personal as well as professional associations for both myself and my family with the Art Centre itself and the village of Casole d'Elsa where it is located and it was in the valley below the village that we were to discover the farmhouse Corbino.

My involvements with the Centro d'Arte and Corbino continue to this day and during recent years I have been very fortunate to have been invited to run courses here in the UK and abroad including the beautiful El Cachete in Spain and En Olivier in France as well as periodic workshops for Clare Inskip Art Courses.

VINCE TUTTON - ART COURSE PROGRAMME 2012

It is hard to believe that another summer of courses is now over. Once again, I return to Poltesco and my studio at Predannack with so many wonderful memories, both creative and social, of the times I have shared with many good friends and new ones as well, while enjoying the warmth of the hospitality of Nigel and Carol at the Centro d'Arte Verrocchio; Jim, Mary and the family at El Cachete; Hermione at En Olivier and Clare at her studio in Little Somerford and at beautiful Hydra.

I now look forward to the simpler life with the family and friends that the winter in Cornwall offers, before I set off on my travels again next year. Needless to say that I hope you will be tempted to join me once again on one of my courses, or indeed for the first time.
